I edited the pic for this blog post 15th of march a little, this is the sligthly altered shot.

Noilly Prat is my favourite Vermouth for cooking. Even rice tastes better when fried a few seconds before boiling and some drops of this stuff.

On my way home, I was able to visit a french supermarkt - nice to have a different sortiment at hand.

Resume

Le Flic, originally uploaded by topfloor.

Having had the privilege to use a rental Leica M8 for 2 days in Hamburg last week, I can say I enjoyed the experience of using the solid body. Not a question of technical facts, but a question of emotion for me. I like the shots I took with it and might consider using a rangefinder again / more often. I liked the 21 mm rental lens very much, the Solms people know how to build fine glass, I guess.

Graphical subway

Graphical subway, originally uploaded by topfloor.

The many coll flickr pictures of this subway station in Hamburg inspired me to give it a visit. My hotel being only a 3 minutes walk away helped a bit, too :-)

Old tech

Hamburg was my chance to rent a Leica. the solid, heavy body felt strange, the handling is so different from a modern DSLR. Reassuring to recognize I am still able to focus manually :-)

Tunnelview (Elbtunnel)

I was so glad to have the chance to walk the whole distance (both ways) of Hamburgs old Elbtunnel under the river Elbe. Views, atmosphere and sounds of the few cars were amazing.

Revisiting Hamburgs Landungsbruecken

Landungsbruecken, originally uploaded by topfloor.

I was lucky to have the chance to revisit Hamburg on a busines trip. The Landungsbruecken were on Scott Kelby's Photowalk Hamburg last year, so some of the possible motives were known. Enjoy.
